Former President Teddy Roosevelt's 1914 exploration of an unknown tributary of the Amazon river is a compelling experience for readers of Candace Millard's book
River of Doubt. One gains an immense appreciation for the myriad dangers (and wonders) of the Amazon region, and for the character of TR. Amazing also is the notion that a former chief executive would even be allowed to take on such a journey, especially today. Highly recommended.
